Herzen State Pedagogical University for the first time is included in THE World University Rankings, global ranking of the best universities

The results of the annual Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings (WUR) 2024 were published on September 27, 2023. This year’s edition of THE WUR was published for the twentieth time and it was an anniversary edition. University rankings of the Times Higher Education are among the most respected and prestigious worldwide.

This year, the final list of the best universities of the world included the Herzen State Pedagogical University for the first time; it occupies the 1,501st place and is the only Russian pedagogical university in this list. A total of 1,904 universities from 108 countries were included in this year’s global ranking. Among higher education institutions of Russia, a total of 78 Russian universities are represented, of which Herzen University ranks 32nd. The compilers of the ranking also marked the high positions of Herzen State Pedagogical University in International Outlook (1,141st position) and Teaching (1,354th position).

It is worth noting that earlier Herzen University was included in another authoritative QS World University Rankings. The present result shows the global recognition of the quality of Herzen State Pedagogical University’s activities and inclusion in the world’s leading university rankings.
