The programme is designed to provide students with an opportunity to:
- go on work placement in botany, zoology, environmental studies and methodology of teaching biology at the cutting-edge agrobiological facility in Vyritsa in the suburbs of Saint Petersburg;
- go on work placement in the Horizont sports and recreation camp, Crimea, Russia, managed by Sevastopol State University;
- go on teaching placement at general education schools, gymnasiums, lyceums and youth centres:
- go on teaching placement in Sochi-based educational centre Sirius established by the Educational Foundation Talent and Success;
- proceed to a master’s degree programme.
Alumni will be able to:
- teach or manage educational activity in biology and environmental studies according to a personalised study plan based on the student’s age and profile;
- make an ample and effective use of modern educational tools;
- aim for lifelong personal and professional development;
- design cultural settings to raise awareness about the advances in biology for different groups of population;
- effectively express themselves in public speaking, rhetoric and debate;
- effectively interact with colleagues and students showing tolerance, readiness for dialogue and cooperation;
- use cutting-edge approaches to information management, understand its role in modern society and develop awareness of information-related threats;
- use one of the foreign languages effectively enough to solve complex professional tasks in biology education;
- implement educational programmes in compulsory and elective biology-related courses in different educational institutions and levels of education;
- effectively plan teaching and learning activities and perform unbiased assessment of educational outcomes.
