Foreign Languages in the Context of Contemporary

• The programme is aimed at training professional foreign language teachers who will land jobs in vocational and university-level education
• The programme provides for a significant improvement of students’ foreign language fluency
• Students learn about the most recent developments in linguistics, which will help them hone their language skills and improve their teacher expertise
• Students master a variety of language teaching techniques and methods in order to be prepared for effective teaching work

Students will be able to:

• improve their language proficiency (including writing and speaking) under the supervision of both Russian instructors and native speakers of the studied languages
• acquire a better and deeper theoretical understanding of the studied languages
• learn how to combine theory and practice in order to carry out linguistics research
• learn about the existing methods and techniques of foreign language teaching and design their own practical approach
• apply, upon completion, to a PhD programme (Romance Languages or Germanic Languages)
